Woodblock

Carved out some woodblock prints last week and printed them on friday. Gonna go collect em today and see how they turned out. I had problems getting the ink to spread evenly on the block and in the end, i lost some of the detail on the final prints because of over-inking.
    Printed out some colour images too and i'm going to carve back into the woodblock and print over them for a 2 colour image.

3D continued

Got my steel piece made up the other day. Worked out well. The piece is quite solid and heavy. Don't have a photo of it at the moment, but i'll get around to it... probly. Gonna explore other materials and techniques for creating the different sections of the crane this week. Also want to do some quick sketches of the metal pice itself. I want to explore it from different sides and angles and represent it in different ways on a 2-Dimensional plane.

PS. What's up with the time on these past posts? Don't worry, i wasn't sittin up typin these up in the middle of the night or at half 8 in the morning...

Circling the crane...

Went out around the parkway/TK Maxx area again today sketching the cranes from different sides all around. Mainly wanted to work out the scale of the different sections of the crane to help draw up a quick design plan for a 3D piece. Hopefully gonna start constructing it tomorry from steel.

Urban Environment

Exploring cranes and construction for my Urban environment project. Mainly focusing on ink this week. Nice medium to use, simplistic and not too much hassle.
